Who We Are

Yael Jekogian is a social impact leader in progressive politics and gender equity and has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit management. She founded Ibex Initiatives to provide treasurer, compliance, management, and communications services to political campaigns and organizations.

Over the past few years, Yael has served in key positions in several New York City Council campaigns, most recently as campaign manager for a top contender in one of the most expensive and competitive 2025 City Council campaigns. Yael is a Treasurer for New York City and New York State campaigns. She will take immaculate care of your finances and provide all of your compliance and filing requirements to secure critical matching funds from public finance programs.

Yael serves on the Leadership Team of Markers For Democracy, a grassroots community focused on saving American Democracy. She has served as a Board Member, Director of Development, consultant, and volunteer for many nonprofits including Women’s Campaign Fund, Women’s Way, and New York Women’s Foundation. Yael is Vice Chair of the Transport Group Theatre Company board. She loves the theater and believes it is a catalyst for social change.

Yael was born and raised in Philadelphia, studied Civil Engineering at Drexel University, and is based in New York City.

A note about our name: Yael is Hebrew for ibex, which is a nimble, sure-footed mountain goat. It was without question that I would name my company after this noble and majestic animal. Let Ibex Initiatives help your campaign or organization reach the highest peaks.
